In each ijLAB, the visitors of the Amsterdam Muziekgebouw are presented with short and varied „flash performances“ from 8-15min. Duration surprised. Kronos Quartet and Ben Frost An ijLAB takes place in unusual places within the Muziekgebouw aan´t Ij: on the balcony, terrace, cloakroom, stairs behind the bar, in summer also on a cruising boat, and more.
The composition of the ijLABs looks different every time: sometimes there is only one singer, sometimes there are two singers and two breakdancers, sometimes there are percussionists and DJs. VocaalLAB works together with institutions like Muziektheater Hollands Diep, Club Guy&Roni, Slagwerk Den Haag, ISH, Zapp4, Project Wildeman, Calefax, Ensemble Klang, Stravinsky Orkestar and Kaleidoskop Berlin.
