Kunst der Fuge
Choreography by Antoine Jully
Music by Johann Sebastian Bach ‚Die Kunst der Fuge‘ BWV 1080
„Dancers:inside who literally want to explode with energy with every movement … Several times I had the feeling that [they] were about to start flying …“ (Radio Bremen 2)
The openness that the unfinished nature of Johann Sebastian Bach’s composition left him with was particularly appealing to Antoine Jully in his choreographic adaptation of the music cycle. Oldenburg-based singer, voice artist and sound engineer Gunnar Brandt-Sigurdsson created a musical arrangement for which he arranged four of the pieces for voice and also made recordings with, among others, the Ventapane Quartet and the organ-player of the Lamberti Church, Tobias Götting. After the great success in summer 2019, the BallettCompagnie Oldenburg dances ‚Die Kunst der Fuge‘ again.
